Broady Steele stormed out of Britain on Monday after suffering Croydon title setback.
ANGRY STEELE PACKS HIS BAGS AND HEADS
FOR HOME AFTER UEWA BID TURNS SOUR!
North American battler Broady Steele packed his bags and headed home after a bid for the UEWA heavyweight title ended in controversy during Sunday’s All Star bill at Croydon. Despite UEWA objections to a non-European bidding for the title, the Fairfield Hall contest against reigning champion James Mason went ahead with the towering Canada-based campaigner told that, if winning, he would only be recognised as champion when competing in European countries. After 22 minutes of explosive action with Steele turning the rule book inside and looking to have clinched victory, Mason completely lost his cool and began hitting out at everyone in the vicinity. The South London-born star was promptly disqualified - but Steele’s joy and celebrations were cut short when it was quickly pointed out that the title cannot change hands on a disqualification and that Mason was still the official belt holder.
